Happy New Year, everyone. People around the world rang in the new decade with many massive celebrations. We take you to New York City, for a look at all the excitment at Times Square.
Times Square was packed with people as they gathered to watch the traditional Waterford crystal ball drop as 2009 came to a close.
Despite near freezing temperatures in a rain and snowy mix, partiers passed through police security checkpoints and crammed city streets to celebrate the start of the New Year...with kisses and tons of confetti.
Some people had started waiting as early as midday to watch the spectacle, which featured special concert acts and fireworks displays before the usual tune of John Lennon's "Imagine" ended 2009, and the revelers sang "Auld Lang Syne" (Aud lang zayn) to kick off 2010, followed by Frank Sinatra's rendition of "New York, New York."
