He played a combined nine seasons for the Detroit Red Wings organization and six in Quebec and New York eventually calling it quits in 1993. As an offensive threat, John broke the Red Wings’ single season scoring record and at one time ranked statistically with NHL Hall of Famer, Wayne Gretzky.
