Depuis que j'avais vu L'Ile nue de Kaneto Shindo, film japonais noir et blanc sans dialogues de 1960, je rêvais de retrouver la minuscule île du tournage. Quand nous (Prado/Sekido) y sommes enfin arrivés, nous nous attendions à la voir transformée en l'un de ces piliers de pont de l'autoroute qui traverse la Mer intérieure sur plus de 100 km. Pas du tout. C'est peu à peu que les iliens d'à côté nous ont parlé de lhistoire d'un homme solitaire ayant habité cette île située a quelques kilomètres d'Hiroshima. Sous l'histoire il y a toujours une autre histoire.-------------------For decads I have wished to find again Kaneto Shindo's Naked Island. In July 2008 ,at last, we found this desert island near Hiroshima. Another story was hidden under the story of the film. Little by little, with the help of the nearby islanders we restored the story of a lonely man living in the island at the time of the film, a refuge to the chaotic and nuclear world of the end of the war in the south of Japan.
