Mandriva Linux 2007 3D Desktop
3D desktop on Mandriva cooker, using Xgl and compiz.
This works out of the box by installing the x11-server-xgl and compiz packages, and restarting the X server.

If Mandriva wants to be truly innovative and groundbreaking, give us a computing environment where we don't have to name every stupid little object and abolish 'folders' forever; instead, how about we just take "this photo" from "here" and maybe scale it, whitebalance it, print it, and put it "there" for later. I am so tired of thinking up unique and meaningful names for things which, in realspace, have no need of propernouns or uniquely named locations -- let the machine take care of all that database muck, and just let me work with my digital stuff.

What is these raindrops screensaver? What is the package? Cool!
Mandriva 2006.0 (10.2) was the last release but '2007' was just officially released within the last month give or take a week?.
As usual though you have to buy the PowerPack to get the NVidia driver packages etc in the self-installing 'on-install' drivers.
