This outstanding British band unjustly is little remembered today, although Winter's orchestra was the first dance band on radio, broadcasting from London's Marconi House attic on March 26, 1923. In 1924, he also appeared as the first band performing on a commerical radio station ever as well, in fact Radio Paris. Winter also claimed that he was the very first leader to use a theme song. This most distinct recording was made in 1930, with an equally remarkable vocal by Al Bowlly.

Bowlly and Crosby are in my opinion the only artists able to sing Anything from a waltz to hot jazz.

Yes bostonblakie, it's great to hear Bowlly outstandingly interpreting a totally different style of song.

A cheerful "nonsense" song. Bowelly shows some versatility as well.
