    Both bands were a bit on the ponderous side, but Shilkret's recordings had very little in the way of jazzy solos and that may have something to do with it. Except for the picture label Columbia's which are collectable in there own right, most pre 1929 Whiteman Victors that were simply pop arrangements are not very collectible.

    I have often wondered why Nats records were not quite as popular with collectors as Paul Whiteman's. I think his are just as good as Whiteman's and the treatment of music is so different and very unique just like Paul's.
