ZuneHD moves closer to launch: Will it work?
Microsoft's always been playing second fiddle to the iPod, but with the ZuneHD and its ultra-sexy OLED screen, Microsoft might have a shot at changing some minds. What's up with the device, and when will we know more about it? We talk to Donald Bell from CNET, who put out a lengthy hands-on with the unit. He has some good things to say about the device, and it seems like Microsoft is firing on all cylinders with its MP3 player. We also talk to Dan Frommer from the Business Insider who isn't drinking the ZuneHD kool-aid just yet; he thinks the lack of a compelling app platform is going to be a huge downer for Microsoft, and that regular people would rather have a plethura of games to choose from, rather than a music exclusive device. What's your take? Do you think Microsoft has a shot to carve itself out as the best music player out there, or does the best music player still play second fiddle to a world full of apps?
