National Lottery Awards Finalist 2009 – Playtrail

Playtrail ‘Green Fingers’ Project, Derry, is a community-run outdoor play and educational facility, set in the grounds of two special schools. It attracts over 62,000 visitors per year who come to enjoy the numerous play areas, woodland walk, auditorium and straw-bale house. One of the main aims of the project was to create a space that is accessible to all and to break down barriers between pupils of the special schools and the local community.
