Dido - Whiteflag

Depuis la sortie de No Angel, des rumeurs reviennent régulièrement, affirmant que Dido a décidé d'arrêter de composer. Or elle-même, sur son forum officiel, a déclaré que même si le succès s'estompait, elle continuerait de toute façon à écrire de nouvelles chansons. « C'est un job merveilleux. On travaille dur mais c'est un plaisir ! ».

La tournée européenne s'est achevée fin 2004. Cela a donné lieu à la sortie, le 4 avril 2005, du très attendu DVD Live at Brixton Academy. Dido, selon plusieurs sources et notamment le tabloïd britannique The Sun, aurait commencé à rechercher l'inspiration pour un nouvel album, notamment grâce à un voyage informel avec escales en Asie, Nouvelle-Zélande et Amérique du Sud. Ce voyage au long cours, qui pourrait bien durer un an, serait une sorte d'année sabbatique après plusieurs mois mouvementés. L'occasion peut-être aussi de rechercher d'autres influences, pour pouvoir à nouveau devenir « celle qui arrive de l'arrière, de l'inconnu ».

2007 marquera sans doute le come-back de Dido avec un troisième album produit par le musicien, chanteur, auteur/compositeur et producteur Jon Brion, connu pour ses bandes originales de films. Un nouvel opus qui s'annonce différent et qui devrait amener Dido au maximum de son potentiel!
