The Czech village Jindrichovice in the Karkonosze mountains wants to do away with bureaucracy and presidential polemics. So its 700 residents have broken away from the government in Prague. A sign at the entrance to the village reads 'No Entry for Bureaucrats'. The community within the Czech-Polish-German border triangle has secured its own wind-generated electricity, its own water supply and heats all public buildings with bio fuel. A portrait of Czech individuality as the country comes to the end of its EU Council Presidency.
