One of the finest shot put fields ever assembled in the USA competed today at Hayward field. On his sixth and final throw Reese Hoffa summoned the fire within and exploded to a new world leading throw at 21.89M to take the lead and win the prestigious event. Dan Taylor, having a banner year under new coach John Godina, was second at 21.29M. Tomasz Majewski (Olympic Champion) and glide exponent was third at 21.26M.
