when the first pile has 10 card your first card wil be at nr. 11. then when you cut it, it doesnt matter as you put the second pile on top of, which makes 15 between, same for pile nr. 3, its mindblowing because you think it lays in a random order, but its allready counted up. Not much math about it, it all the cards are seperated by 15 card, which makse it nr 16 every time, then its easy to make it show up as the last 3 cards. Hope it was a bit helpful and you understood ehst i was trying to say:)

Now the cards are the 2nd, 4th, and 6th cards in a stack of 6. Up, DOWN, up, DOWN, up, and finally DOWN. It's all about how the cards end up being spaced in the beginning. They are evenly spaced resulting in the same amount being taken out from between them each time. Hope that helps.

When you place the first card on the pile it puts it in the 11th from the bottom position. You then split the second pile anywhere and place the 2nd card on top of what's left again for the 3rd pile. When you pile the stacks back up you're putting the stacks back together. first card is 11th from the bottom. Next card is 15 cards from that one. And the next one is 15 cards from that one. You then have 9 cards on top. Add 4 to the bottom and now the bottom card is the 15th from the bottom. Next card is 15 up from that, and the third is 15 up from that. With 5 left on top. 6th card, 22nd card, 36th card. all 15 cards apart. Take out half the cards and then the first card is now 3rd from the bottom. 11th from the bottom. And 19th from the bottom. 7 cards are then added to the top from the rest of the deck. So the cards are now the 8th, 16th, and 24th cards. Repeat. Now the cards are 2nd, 6th, and 10th. The evens are always down because you start with one card up. Repeat again.
