U.S. Vetoes Palestinian Bid for Full U.N. Membership

The U.S. has vetoed Palestine's bid to become a full U.N. member state. The U.S. says that negotiations between Israeli and Palestinian authorities should decide the terms for a Palestinian state rather than through U.N. action.
