Witches and Butchers is a "Shoot 'em up" game with Role Playing Elements developed for the Game Boy Color and Modern Platforms.
In Witches and Butchers, you play as Lluuvia, a witch who has the ability of cooking magic-infused dishes. She and her friends embark on an adventure to defeat the gluttonous demon Berse, a giant pig-looking creature who is spawning pig demons and sending them to steal food from nearby towns.
Unlike most RPG's, you don't need to worry about grinding experience points and levels! In Witches and Butchers you directly increase your party member's stats (Attack, Defense, Speed and Luck) by giving them food!
By completing quests and clearing dungeons, you will obtain ingredients that Lluuvia can use to cook a variety of dishes, like Cinnamon Buns, Burritos, various kinds of Soups, even some vegetarian options!
Each meal provides different stats, some increase the attack, some increase defense, speed or luck, and you have to consider what kind of food do your party members like, because they can obtain more or less stat points depending on whether they like the food or not!
There are different kinds of action sequences, most of the action will take form of an auto-scrolling shoot 'em up, while some times you will have to play platformer stages filled with challenges!
As you play the game, you will explore routes and towns, talk to people, get quests and even pet animals!
