Bruno Fernandes netted from 50 yards out to equalize for Manchester United in their clash with Liverpool.

After Alejandro Garnacho's early strike was ruled out for offside, United found themselves on the back foot for much of the first half at Old Trafford.

Luis Diaz fired the visitors into the lead from a corner in the 23rd minute, with the Colombian unmarked at the back post after a flick-on from Darwin Nunez.

Erik ten Hag's side struggled to produce any real chances throughout the opening 45 minutes and entered the break without having recorded a single shot.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's side registered 15 shots during the first half of their Premier League clash on Sunday afternoon.

Despite their struggles, United would finally make it through courtesy of Bruno Fernandes after the restart.

The Portuguese midfielder capitalized on a mistake from Jarell Quansah, intercepting a poor pass from the young defender just beyond the halfway line.

Noticing Reds goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher well off his line the club captain struck the ball first time and floated his strike over the Irishman's head to put the clash back on level terms.

After seizing the initiative, United pressed their advantage and Kobbie Mainoo produced a sublime finish to give the hosts the lead.

Once again though Erik ten Hag's side would be unable to see out their advantage to secure three points, as Mo Salah made history from the penalty spot to become the opposition player with the most goals at Old Trafford in Premier League history.
