Today's headlines with Rachael Grealish - Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
A 69-year-old man died after falling into the road and being struck by two cars in a Yorkshire village.
The man was treated by the ambulance service but died at the scene on Park Road, Worsbrough.

A dog has died after falling 100 metres from cliffs at Bempton.
The RNLI lifeboat from Flamborough arrived on scene and confirmed that while they were able to get ashore they were unable to get the dog back to the vessel for recovery.

The Gawthorpe World Coal Carrying Championships returns to Yorkshire for its 61st anniversary.
The event involves men carrying a 50kg sack of coal on their backs and women must carry 20kg across a 1,000-metre distance. The race is timed by using an original pigeon racing clock and volunteers’ stopwatches.

And finally, legacies from two good friends who loved nature are helping save "Yorkshire's Wild Isle" from developers.
Severus Hill, owned by Keyland Developments Ltd, was put up for auction last year, causing concern among locals.
The landowner agreed to delay the sale, giving residents time to raise £170,000 by the end of June.
A significant boost came from a £10,000 donation by the family of Joan Wells and her late brother-in-law Roy Boyson, both nature enthusiasts who passed away last year at the ages of 100 and 97, respectively.
