Mobility scooters are not what most of us would consider "cool" because they are vehicles designed to improve the quality of life of older individuals and people with limited abilities. But a company called Avvenire wants to start a mobility scooter revolution.

Looking like a prop from a sci-fi movie, the Tectus might be the coolest mobility scooter on the market. Featuring a closed cabin complete with air conditioning and heating, as well as stylish options such as a backup camera, GPS tracking and even wireless charging, Tectus maximizes practicality. The company Avvenire even fitted the machine with a modular rear end, allowing for wider cargo options.

The Tectus is powered by an electric motor that delivers 2,000 watts of power and has a top speed of 20 miles per hour, much faster than other mobility scooters on the market. It is powered by lithium battery packs that can be configured up to 6,000 watt-hours, providing a range of up to 99 miles on a single charge.

The company highlights the need for year-round transportation, especially in the aging demographic. According to the company, advances in technology are behind us when it comes to mobility scooters. Tectus aims to solve many of the problems faced by standard mobility scooters, such as usability in all weather conditions, comfort and even the ability to charge the scooter without bending over thanks to optional wireless charging.

Unlike standard mobility scooters designed primarily for indoor use, the Tectus can go just about anywhere. It features powerful tires and four-wheel drive, allowing users to explore beyond the boundaries of smooth pavement.

Of course, its closed cabin, complete with air conditioning and heating system, will protect you from the weather.

In terms of pricing and availability, Tectus will be offered in two trim levels. The entry-level Tectus Deluxe has an MSRP of $6,995. Meanwhile, the stylish Tectus Ultimate, with its hot and cold cup holders, tire pressure monitoring system, GPS, optional fingerprint scanner, and wireless charging, will set you back $8,999.

Products such as Avvenire Tectus certainly hold great potential to increase the mobility of individuals living in urban environments. Its futuristic style and modern technology definitely add a lot of appeal as well.
