ERC to provide temporary remedy to Occidental Mindoro problem woes
The Energy Regulatory Commission will grant temporary relief to Occidental Mindoro to alleviate the burden of consumers who pay almost twice as much power rates due to the emergency power supply agreement.
ERC Chairman Monalisa Dimalanta told The Manila Times in an exclusive interview on Wednesday, February 28, that the commission will provide temporary remedy relative to the motion filed by Occidental Mindoro Electric Cooperative Inc. and Occidental Mindoro Consolidated Power Corp. to reinstate the original Power Supply Agreement for San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal and Calintaan with 19-24 megawatt capacity since the Solar Power Plant, one of the components of the original PSA, is ready to provide power in the area after its application for provisional authority was withdrawn in July 2023.
