Consider This: OECD’s Andreas Schleicher on Malaysia's PISA Performance
  • 2 bulan lalu
The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) assesses the knowledge and skills of 15-year-old students globally, in mathematics, reading and science. Unlike conventional assessments, PISA goes beyond rote memorization, instead assess students' ability to apply knowledge creatively, think critically, solve complex problems, and communicate effectively. Essentially, it gives an approximation into how well the education system is preparing students for real life challenges and future success.

However the latest PISA data pointed to a clear global trend: The average 15-year-old in 2022 was less proficient in maths, reading, and science compared to those tested by PISA in 2018. On this episode of #ConsiderThis Melisa Idris speaks to Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education and Skills and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the OECD in Paris.
