I wrote this song on New Year’s Eve just before going to Ukraine to meet a woman named Marina. My marriage of twenty years had just ended and I was very confused and lonely. Marina and I left Ukraine and then went to Egypt for a two-week holiday on the Red Sea at Sharm al Sheik. Wild trip. Never spoke to her again after that, but I'm still friends with the Irish guy that put me in second place for "Coolest Dude at the Resort"...
It would be great if Marina could see this video. She was a nice person.

Note about that first kiss: Alice married Tommy Engelke, a childhood friend of mine and a good friend to this day. She was alive and well when I wrote this song. After all decades of marriage, she died in 2012. He still misses her dearly.
