Armchair Theatre - Lord Arthur Saville's Crime (1960) (Part 2)

Part 2 of the Armchair Theatre comedy drama. At an engagement party for Lord Arthur Saville and Sybil Merton, Lord Saville encounters a fortune teller, who has been telling the fortunes of many of the guests there. However, he has a disturbing prediction for Lord Saville - he will become a murderer sometime in his life. Shocked by this and his upcoming nuptials, Lord Saville decides if it's in the stars then he might as well get the crime over and done with before the wedding, and plots who will be his intended target...

Starring Terry-Thomas, Robert Coote, Penny Morell, Ambrosine Philpotts, Arthur Lowe, Eric Pohlmann, Nora Nicholson, Ernest Thesinger, Kynaston Reeves and Michael Hitchman. This is a very early Armchair Theatre that I saved from Mick's Nostalgia Channel, so you have him to thank for this. Based on a short story by Oscar Wilde, this is a hugely enjoyable comedy drama with a touch of mystery that proves a perfect vehicle for Terry-Thomas. It also includes a wonderful turn from Arthur Lowe (Dad's Army) as the slightly sinister fortune teller, while the squeaky voiced intended of Lord Saville, Penny Morell, was George Cole's 2nd wife! Enjoy.
