Israel implements daily 4-hour 'pauses' in Gaza for civilian evacuation

Israel has agreed to implement daily four-hour humanitarian pauses in its northern Gaza assault, following President Joe Biden's request for a multi-day cessation to facilitate hostage negotiations with Hamas. Biden confirmed he had asked for a three-day pause, expressing that a formal cease-fire was currently not possible and noting that it took longer than hoped for Israel to agree to the humanitarian breaks.
