Several people are in hospital and dozens forced out of their homes after Storm Ciarán unleashed its destruction across the British Isles.
A major incident has been declared after winds of more than 100mph and heavy rain caused chaos in southern England and the Channel Islands.
The worst of the damage was seen in the Channel Island of Jersey, where at least three people were taken to hospital and around 30 evacuated to hotels overnight.
