Gaza crisis spurs urgency for renewable energy shift, says IEA chief

Gaza tensions and energy market stress, including the Russia-Ukraine conflict, could accelerate the shift toward renewable energy, as per Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency. These crises might expedite the global transition to renewables, akin to the 1970s oil price shocks that spurred conservation efforts. Birol sees wind and solar power as a safer and environmentally friendly solution for energy security.
