Joe Biden delivers speech on the Israel-Hamas war

US President Joe Biden delivers remarks on the Israel-Hamas war, as the number of people killed in Hamas's attack on Israel rises above 1,000.

According to a senior defense official, US defence Lloyd Secretary Austin offered the hostage rescue support to his Israeli counterpart, Minister Yoav Gallant during a weekend phone call.

The offer comes as the Israeli and American governments try to secure the release or rescue of hostages in Gaza some of whom are believed to be American.
