Darts fans have claimed Michael van Gerwen has been robbed of the ‘greatest limbs ever’ after he nailed a nine-darter in Amsterdam - but the crowd didn't realize.

Darts fans have been left fuming on social media after Michael van Gerwen was robbed of some of the 'greatest limbs ever' due to a graphics error.

Van Gerwen was strutting his stuff at the oche in front of a home crowd at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam against Luke Humphries.

The pair played out a classic, with Van Gerwen winning 11-10 and nailing a nine-darter en route. However, the crowd didn't know their hero had won the leg, or even hit a nine-darter, due to a graphics error.

"A graphics error ruined what would have been the greatest limbs ever seen at darts, some of the crowd didn’t have a clue," one fan fumed. While a second shared: "Wouldn't be a darts tournament without the scoreboard disappearing!"

"How do I explain to my grandchildren that MVG hit a 9 dart leg from this position," a third joked. And another added: "This 9 darter here determines the proportion of the crowd that are true darts fans and those that are just casual darts fans…"

It was anything but a comfortable victory for Van Gerwen, who capitalized on Humphries' mistake to level the game at 10-10.

Humphries fluffed his lines with three match darts, allowing Van Gerwen to check out on double eight.

The Dutchman made no mistakes in the final leg, showing the bottle of a champion, as he booked his spot in the final of the World Series of Darts.
