Kylian Mbappe and his French teammates took a night off from their Euro 2024 qualifying schedule, to watch France open their Rugby World Cup campaign, in style - even, though it looked like he didn't quite follow what was going on in the game.

The World Cup hosts got their tournament off to a flyer with a 27-13 win over New Zealand and were watched on by several of their fellow countrymen from the French football squad.

Spotted in the crowd was Mbappe alongside Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, and Dayot Upamecano, surrounded by happy French fans over the performance of their rugby team.

Mbappe seemed to be enjoying himself taking in the big occasion, although some of his facial expressions seemed to suggest he wasn't completely up to speed with how the game is played.

Nevertheless, the PSG superstar celebrated alongside his French teammates during the World Cup opener at the Stade de France in Paris.

After the game, Mbappe headed to the changing rooms to congratulate the team on the victory, along with the rest of the French squad who attended the game.

Twenty-four hours earlier the 24-year-old was part of the France team that beat Ireland 2-0 in their latest Euro 2024 qualifier, which sees Didier Deschamps on course to qualify for next summer's finals.

Aurelien Tchouameni and Marcus Thuram were on target, as France made it five wins out of five at the top of Group B.

They are next in action on Tuesday when they take on Germany in a high-profile International friendly.
