According to Islam, Yeshua / Jesus never claimed to be divine. Islam sees Yeshua as human, sent as the last prophet of Israel to Jews with the Gospel scripture known in Islam as injil, affirming but modifying the Mosaic Law. Mainstream Islamic traditions have rejected any divine notions of Yeshua being God, or begotten Son of God.

Muslims don’t believe Yeshua was the son of God, but they do revere him as a holy prophet.


So although Muslims do not believe that Yeshua is God — a critically important distinction between Muslim and Christian views of him — Muslims do revere Yeshua / Jesus as an important prophet.
