The thing I enjoyed most about this recording was the drum break at 00:45. I am used to those woodblocks used on so many jazz recordings of the 1920s. Drummers seemed really hampered by what they could play on those old recordings. Usually no bass or snare drum. Also the Oreste Orchestra made many fine recordings for Edison and this is sure one of them. Thanks

"When The Morning Glories Wake Up In The Morning Then I'll Kiss Your Two Lips Good-Night"... whew I've never seen such a long title, almost longer than the song itself. But the song, now that's a brilliant one! The gorgeous late 20's sound indeed. Oreste's band is difficult to find, so I'm thrilled to hear this outstanding record by them. Thank you!

The best year for music is 1929 according to the collectors. The hardest music to find is early 30s because of the depression.Companies like Victor went from Millions of records in the 1920s to a few thousand in the early 1930s.
