Space agency says light was likely part of Russian rocket

A fireball which streaked across Melbourne’s skyline last night was most likely the wreckage of a Russian rocket on its way back to earth, according to Australia’s space agency. The rocket was used to launch a new navigation satellite and was meant to plunge into the Southern Ocean afterwards, but experts say there are signs things didn't go to plan.
