In the 50th edition of the Royal Ocean Racing Club’s offshore classic, the Rolex Fastnet Race, Max Klink’s Botin 52 Caro emerged as the overall winner.

Grappling with winds gusting close to 40 knots and treacherous seas off England's south coast, the Swiss owner and his team of seasoned sailors braved the first 12 hours of the race in survival mode. However, despite the adverse conditions and having no wind instruments for a large part of the race, the crew's vast experience, preparation and determination saw them cross the finish line first.

Klink attributes the success to the competitive nature of the 50-footer range and his crew's ability to handle the boat meticulously even in tough conditions.

The crew consisted of William Parker, Wade Morgan, Ryan Godfrey, Justin Ferris, Jono Swain, James Paterson, Harry Hall, Cian Guilfoyle, Andrew McCorquodale, Andy Green, Adrian Stead, and owner Max Klink. Tactician Adrian Stead, along with novice navigator Andy Green, played a pivotal role in the team's victory, making every second count and ensuring a dream run back from the Isles of Scilly.

The triumph is a testament to the crew's unyielding spirit and their ability to endure, earning them a place amongst the legendary names engraved on the Fastnet Challenge Cup.
