Alpha du Centaure - album Alpha du Centaure 1979
  • 9 mesi fa
French jazz-rock group formed in 1973. In early 1970s they were part of the movement "Front de Liberation de la Rock-Music" along with Lard Free and Maajun. After years of changes in the line up they settled up as a trio and in 1979 they recorded their lone self-titled album. The album is composed of four mostly instrumental tracks where the band combines the free possibilities of jazz, the roaring power of heavy rock with some delicacy of funk and soul, twisting the sound from some virtuosic solos to laid back jazzy improvisations and to some electrified. Strong rhythm parts and some sort of psychedelic influences moments with wild fuzzy wah wah guitar screams, as well as some Latin-spiced overtones.

Jean-Pierre Richard - electric guitar.
Olivier Koechlin - double bass.
Jonathan Dickinson - drums, vocals.
