Ex-Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been cleared of rape and attempted rape. Mendy, 28, broke down in tears at Chester Crown Court as two not guilty verdicts were delivered. He was cleared of attacking a 24-year-old woman at his home in Cheshire in October 2020. He was found not guilty of the attempted rape of a 29-year-old woman also at his home two years before.
