NOVA - Mammoths of the Ice Age (1995)

Some scientists believe that mammoths became extinct 10,000 years ago, because they could not adapt to the drastic environmental changes that occurred when the last Ice Age ended. Others believe that mammoths may have been driven to extinction at the hand of human hunters. Although there is evidence to support both of these arguments, newly discovered remains of mammoths indicate that mammoths were still living as recently as 3,500 years ago on a remote island of the Siberian Arctic.
