Obviously, when hearing this brilliant recording, his orchestra is an excellent 1920's band. Unfortunately, it presently is almost forgotten. Bandleader was pianist Herlihy, but other personnel is largely unknown. Further data are impossible to retrieve. Record was made in 1927. Personnel: t-James Hanson, Fuzzy Farrar; tb-Bill Rank; cl/bar-Don Murray; as-Doc Ryker; cm-Frank Trumbauer; p-Itsy Riskin; bj-Howdy Quicksell; sb-Steve Brown; d-Chauncy Moorhouse (actually the Goldkette Orchestra without Bix Beiderbecke).

I agree, this was an outstanding band; another great Edison issue I like quite a lot.

One more time, Edison recorded the best bands at that time. Thank you for this gem, I never heard of before.

Hi Fred, that song is also on DM (Bye Bye Pretty Baby) on both jazzgirl1920's and my channel.
