Pakistan: Battle of dominationover coal mine leaves 16 dead from two tribes | Oneindia News

At least 16 people have been killed in a bloodyclash over the delimitation of a coal mine in the restive northwestern region of Pakistan. The incident occurred between the Sunnykhel and Zarghun Khel tribes in the Darra Adam Khek area, around 35 km southwest of Peshawar. The injured and the dead have been taken to a hospital in Peshawar. According to the Police, the dispute between the two tribes, both of whom belong to the hill community of Bulandari, turned violent when they faced each other in the disputed mountain range. The police have said that although it was not immediately clear how many persons were hurt, the gunfire exchange had resulted in casualties on both sides.An FIR has been registered at the Darra Adam Khel police station in connection with the incident. The dispute between the Sunnykhel and Zarghun Khel tribes over the delimitation of the coal mine has been continuing for the last couple of years and many reconciliation "jirgas" have been held in a bid to end the deadlock.
