Until recent adventures took him away from the Iron Range, Dave had the good fortune to live among, and develop an acute appreciation for, the forests and lakes so generously inhabiting the Arrowhead region of Minnesota. His respect for the sensitivity of the natural environment, a keen interest in social and political events, and his enjoyment in telling a story combined to provide the spark for this novel.
