Dunham Massey: Greater Manchester’s most visited tourist attraction with over half a million people taking a trip last year
  • last year
Dunham Massey has been revealed as Greater Manchester's most visited tourist attraction by the Association of Leading Visitor Attractions.

The National Trust run deer gardens and 17th century hall in Altrincham had the largest amount of visitors in 2022 of the attractions listed by the ALVA.

Dunham Massey had over 5,000 more visitors to its park, gardens and estate than the next most popular attraction in Greater Manchester - RHS Bridgewater in Salford.

The Altrincham-based attraction has 300 acres of site open to the public and sits on a plot of 3,000 acres of National Trust land.

Fallow Deer roam the grounds of the estate and in Summer can be seen close to the house. They are wild animals free within the large deer gardens, but cared for by rangers on the site.

We visited Dunham Massey for a tour of the park and to speak to people involved in its day to day running as a popular visitor attraction in Manchester.
