Watch the incredible moment Jordan Spieth's wild tee shot is saved from the water after it hits a FAN and ricochets back onto fairway... helping him make the cut at the Players Championship!

Things were not going well for Jordan Spieth in the second round of the Players Championship - and were it not for a perfectly placed fan, they could have gotten worse.

Facing his last hole of the day sitting at two-over par, Spieth needed a birdie in order to make the projected cut of one-over.

But his tee shot went horribly wrong, heading hard right and towards the water. Before it got there, however, it struck a patron in the knee - ricocheting back onto the fairway.

That set Spieth up with a great second shot that landed just out of the right green-side bunker.

His ensuing chip was perfection: going right to the cup and falling in for an eagle to end his round at even par - firmly above the cut line.

Spieth later went back to check in on the fan and gave him a glove - shouting him out after the round for saving his day.

'Literally whatever he wants this weekend. Everything from here on out is because it hit him,' Spieth said.

After a first-round 69, Spieth's game faltered on the day - grabbing three bogeys and two double bogeys to card a second-round 75.

But the fan's knee saved his tournament, and he will move on to the third round at TPC Sawgrass in north Florida tomorrow.
