1941 Les Brown - I Got It Bad (And That Ain’t Good)

Recorded on August 8, 1941, and features vocals by Betty Bonney. An accomplished band singer during the final years of the swing era, Bonney's main claim to fame is that she sang on the Les Brown Band's catchy novelty hit, 'Joltin' Joe DiMaggio', in 1941. She was also on Brown's 'Lament To Love', 'What D'Ya Hear From Your Heart?', 'He's 1A In The Army', and 'Everybody's Making Money But Tchaikovsky', among others, before leaving to work with outfits led by Jerry Wald, Jan Savitt and Frankie Carle. As the band scene declined, she went solo and appeared in several regional stage musicals, including the US road tour of High Button Shoes, which was headed by Eddie Foy Jnr. She also recorded several sides under her own name, including 'They Can't Take That Away From Me', 'How Little We Know', and 'I Can't Make You Love Me'. In the 50s she appeared on the rapidly growing medium of television.
