  • last year
Chancellor Jeremy Hunt says the fact that the UK narrowly avoided recession as the economy flatlined in the last three months of 2022, "shows there is underlying resilience in the UK economy", but adds, "we're not out of the woods". Speaking to reporters after the figures were released, the cabinet minister says: "Inflation is still much too high and it is causing pain for families up and down the country, which is why we need to stick to our plan to halve inflation."
