1925 ist Football nur durch die Collegeteams populär, während die junge Profiliga von den Zuschauern ignoriert wird. Das ändert sich, als Spieler-Oldie Connolly für sein Team Carter Rutherford verpflichtet, der nicht nur Football-, sondern auch Kriegsheld ist.
