Although totally forgotten today, Joe Candullo and His Everglades Orchestra were a popular jazz outfit during the 1920s. Candullo also co-authored the songs ''(I'll Build a) Dream House" and ''I Wanna Go Home,'' Moreover, he co-composed the orchestral ''Christmas Symphony''. This record was made in 1928. The picture features the Edison Diamond Disc Supplement containing the late 51700 - early 51800 issues of August-October (November, 1926), with Joe Candullo on the cover. Personnel on this recording is unknown, but may include:

I've always liked this band, and as you say jazzgirl, it's a pity he is so poorly known.

Candullo made a lot of records for many different companies in the 1920's. Surprised he is not better known. The saxophones play a swinging chorus at 1:51. Thanks for sharing this recording by this great 20's band.
