French President Emmanuel Macron met with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson in Paris on Tuesday as Sweden took over the rotating presidency of the council of the European Union.

The French President has renewed his support to Swedens and Finlands accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

The Swedish Prime Minister has acknowledged called the Russian invasion of Ukraine "the very worst" crisis which the Swedish presidency will have to grapple with.
