All elements can be divided into two equal parts "metals_non-metals". On the basis of physical and chemical properties.
Meaning Of Metals
Those elements which form positive icons by losing electrons are called metals e.g.copper, iron, aluminium, sodium, etc.

The "physical properties" of beating an metal with an hammer is called malleability. Gold and Silver are the most malleable metals.
Fourth "Physical Properties" Ductility
The property that allows metals to be drawn in the wires is called ductility.
Fifth 'Physical Properties' Conductivity
Metals are good conductor of electricity and heat. They quickly transmit heat from one end to the another.
Sixth "Physical Properties Of Metal" Is Hardness
Most of the metals are hard therefore, it is difficult to cut them but, metals like sodium, potassium, magnesium are the soft "metals" which can be easily cut with a knife.
Meaning Of Non-Metals
The metals which form negative icons by gaining electrons are known as nonmetals e.g.carbon, iodine, sulphur, oxygen, hydrogen, etc.
