Robert Burns, one of mankind's greatest poets, was buried in St.Michael's churchyard, Dumfries, Scotland in 1796.
He was interred in a common grave in a corner of the churchyard. Shortly after, fellow poet William Wordsworth and his wife visited the graveside and were astonished that his life and talents weren't celebrated with a more suitable grave.
Burns Mausoleum was subsequently erected. This is a short video that I took a couple of days after Burns' 250th anniversary on the 25th. January, 2009.
