The cargo plane carrying weapons to Bangladesh crashed in Greece

According to officials, a cargo plane that crashed in northern Greece was carrying 11 tonnes of weaponry, including landmines, to Bangladesh.

The plane was travelling from Serbia to Jordan when it crashed late Saturday near Kavala, killing all eight passengers on board.

Greek government-run According to television reports, the army, explosives experts, and Greek Atomic Energy Commission personnel would not enter the site until it was pronounced safe.

Residents reported seeing the plane about 22:45 local time (19:45 GMT).

According to Serbian Defense Minister Neboja Stefanovic, the plane was transporting around 11 tonnes (11,000 lb) of Serbian-made weapons to Bangladesh.
However, there are different claims about the types of weapons aboard.

Meridian, a Ukrainian freight airline, was flying the plane, which was scheduled to stop through Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and India before arriving in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital.
