Very little is known about this Dutch-born American conductor, bandleader and composer (1904-1990). He wrote a few film scores and appeared in a 1937 short subject "Peter van Steeden and His Orchestra in Special Arrangements" (1937). He also left several outstanding records he made with his own orchestra. On this one, made in 1931, he plays his best-known composition. Vocal by Dick Robertson.

Hi dustyrhoads, so welcome. I love this tender song as much as you do, and this is such a great version isn't it.

Patrick, Right into my favorites this goes. What a lovely tribute to your Dad's homecoming on Wednesday. You will have to show this to him when he is settled. And it is almost Wednesday! I am HAPPY for you. And remember..."If you BELIEVE, anything is possible."
All Best,
Ginny
