Marilyn Monroe's Painting By Andy Warhol Sells For $195 Million, Making It Most Expensive 20th Century Art

 A portrait of veteran American actor Marilyn Monroe has been sold for a whopping $195 million. Andy Warhol's ‘Shot Sage Blue Marilyn’ portrait sets a record for the most expensive artwork by a US artist sold at an auction, reported ANI. The 1964 portrait was auctioned on May 9. The portrait shows Monroe in vibrant close-up, her hair has been coloured yellow, the eye shadow is blue and the lips are red in colour. As per Christie's auction house in New York, where the sale took place, Warhol's portrait is the most expensive artwork from the 20th century ever auctioned, as per the NY press news, reported ANI.
