MICK SCHUMACHER left fans with their hearts in their mouths after a huge crash in qualifying for the Saudi Arabian GP.
The Haas driver lost control and crashed into a wall during Q2 at the Jeddah Corniche circuit before being airlifted to hospital.
Schumacher's car was nearly disintegrated after hitting the trackside wall at 170 mph, causing the session to be immediately red-flagged.
His momentum meant the car skidded across the tarmac for some time before finally coming to a stop.
Doctors immediately rushed to attend to the stricken star and Schumacher stayed in his seat while doctors treated him.
But the 23-year-old remained conscious and managed to remove his gloves as he was led to an ambulance after the horrific collision.
When the car was taken off the track, it nearly SPLIT in two, highlighting the severity of the crash.
Fortunately, Haas confirmed that Schumacher appeared to be physically fine after the horrific collision, but was taken to hospital by helicopter as a precaution.
Team manager Guenther Steiner said: "I spoke to his mother and kept her informed. He has no injuries that can be seen, but they want to do some scans to make sure there is no impact from the forces."
"The impact broke the digital [technology], so we didn't hear anything [on the radio], but we learned that he was conscious.
